Year 3, Day 182, Back to the Grind (Pre Grind Edition)

Today was back to the gym. Seven miles in 65 minutes. 100 Ab crunches. Plus 40 Sit ups. Then, a lot of almonds and cashews. But what the hell, the 34s still fit. When the stress gets going, I start baking. Today it was banana cake with Toffee chips and pecans.

Tonight we went out to see "Labor Day Fireworks" whatever that is. Magnolia had a great time until the fireworks started---I immediately had to cart her out, crying hysterically to the nearby Star Market, where I endeavored to keep her occupied at every 'crack' of thunderous sounding roman candle explosions. There was a lot of improvised talk whenever there was a noise, "Is this bunny scared? Does he want some hamburger rolls?" A lot of not very imaginative patter was spawned from the unkempt shelves of a picked-over Star Market (Shaw's). Though Emily and Ruby and their friends could have gotten home on their own, Magnolia and I needed to stay in the market, so we just ended up shopping. I think she was no worse for the wear, but we learned our lesson.
